"I Love America" Bag

Materials: Small amounts of Red, White and Blue Worsted Weight Yarn; Size H hook.

Finished size of Bag is about 8 X 9"

Beginning with Red yarn, chain 70. Being careful not to twist the yarn, join with a slip stitch to the beginning chain

Rnd 1: Hdc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining chain around. At the end of the round, join with a slip stitch to the first hdc made.
Rnds 2 and 3: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. At end of Row 3, slip stitch to join as before, changing yarn color to White. End off Red.
Rnds 4 and 5: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 5, change yarn color to Blue, end off White.
Rnds 6-10: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 10, change yarn to Red, end off Blue.
Rnds 11 and 12: With Red, Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 12, change yarn color to White, end off Red.
Rnd 13: With White, Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 13, change yarn Color to Blue, end off White.
Rnds 14-16: With Blue, Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 16, change yarn color to White, end off Blue.
Rnds 17 and 18: With White, ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 18, change yarn color to Red, end off White.
Rnds 19 and 20: With Red, ch 2, hdc in each hdc around. Join as before. At the end of Rnd 20, change yarn color to Blue, end off Red.
Rnd 21: Continuing with Blue, ch 4, skip next hdc, dc in next hdc, (ch 1, skip next hdc, dc in next hdc) around. At end of Rnd, slip stitch to 3rd ch of beginning ch-4.
Rnd 22: Holding both ends together, chain , hdc through each stitch and chain around. At end of Rnd, slip stitch to 3rd chain of beginning ch 4 to join. End off, with yarn needle, weave in all ends.

PULL CORD: With one strand of each yarn color, chain a chain approximately 60 stitches long; end off. Now weave the cord through the top dc row and, around; cut the yarn ends off, leaving enough length to tie the ends together in a firm knot; weave ends into back into the cord.
